Our latest addition to our commitment to bring light to local artisans in the metro St Louis area, please welcome LaVie Collections and its creator, Linda Vanover. Her studio, in rural Missouri overlooks the Mississippi River which would be incentive enough for most to find creative motivation. But for Linda, her everyday experience also help find inspiration to create.
“When I retired I began searching for a creative outlet. Having dabbled in many different art forms, I found my passion in jewelry making. It gives me the ability to combine the creative design process with the craft of construction.”
Linda has incorporated her love of knitting, crocheting, and braiding into many of her pieces.
“I try to design with originality using a variety of components. My inspiration comes from the world around me and the hope of creating something lovely.”
Linda prefers to use materials such as silver, brass, copper, unique gemstones & unusual yarns as well as more pedestrian materials such as wire & beads into her work. We have approximately 15 pieces of LaVie Collections Jewelry in store including necklaces & bracelets. Some of which are inspired by a Japanese braiding technique called “KumiHimo“.
“When I won an award at the San Diego County Fair, it gave me the incentive to open my shop on Etsy. I can only hope that if you purchase something from me that you enjoy wearing it as much as I enjoyed making it.”
Below are samples of Linda’s work. Some of the pieces have been sold & some have been replaced and reclaimed by Linda. We invite you to visit the store to find your favorite.
